Take a wine tasting class

That was fun. :)

I wouldn’t recommend going to Vinopolis on a Saturday or Bank Holiday as there were so many people. We had a talk about what to look for in a wine and what to smell for too. This will prove useful.

There was also a bottle of corked wine to smell. This will probably be most useful – how do you know what this smells like unless someone shows you?

OK after the introductory session with a wine sample (less than 1/4 glass of wine) we had 5 further samples of our choice from nearly 100, 4 sampleas of premium wines (retailing over £20 a bottle), 2 beers, 2 absinthes, 3 whiskys and one Bombay Sapphire cocktail. Each.

We exited through a wine/whisky/absinthe shop and bought a few bottles of lovely wines we’d tasted. Not over priced either.

We then had a delicious meal at our favourite chain (yes I’m sorry it’s a chain) Wagamama to mop up some of the alchohol.

Now we’re sitting back at home early evening. The first bottle is open and we’re carrying on where we left off at the wine tasting.

Definitely worth doing.

We enjoyed this film and it gave me the idea to try wine tasting.

We’re hoping to go on Good Friday.

My exam will be over
We will have more spare time that weekend than any other
We want to do it before travelling on the Orient Express and going to Venice later in April.

We’re going to Vinopolis soon. I bought hubby a Vinopolis in a Box pressie that we must use before it expires.

It is a massive place and should learn a lot in 3.5 hours (and maybe get a little the worse for wear). Must remember to have nothing planned for the next day ;)
