I’m a nursery nurse, working with children as young as 3 months old, up to almost five years of age. It’s challenging, but it’s one of my favourite jobs. There’s not many other jobs I could envision having right now that I’d like this much. Maybe in the future that’ll change, but for now this is good.

My CV has been sent to 2 other nurseries, via the agency I’m with, both are two buses away, so I’d much rather have the temporary position I’m at now turn into a permanent one, as it’s not very far away. But I don’t know how likely that is, unfortunately.
12 – 6pm, not long, but it’s the first time I’ll have been in this nursery at the end of the day. I have to ask them about pay today, to be precise, how much I will be paid. I know I probably should’ve asked before, but oh well.
...as soon as I get paid for the first time from this new job, as I plan on being with them for a good long while if I can.
On Wednesday the 13th I’m working from 12 till 6, which is a good start, there may be work in between if anyone phones in sick. But they’re hoping that it’ll be more permanent from then on. Yay
I’m hoping that’ll expand into a full time job after a while. They’re supposed to be phoning me with the rota today so I know when I’m working.
I really don’t want to go back to work tomorrow, and I’m not lazy, I just don’t like the place. The employers only care about money, and I’m very passionate about working with kids. They certainly aren’t, and they treat their staff like prisoners. I want to run, but I don’t think my parents would like it (and I live with them, so it’s difficult). Why can’t it all be easy?
Starting Monday, 8:30 until 5:30. Hopefully it’ll turn into a full time job. Can only hope, anyway :)
For a while the ‘what’s the point?’ feeling set in, and I didn’t look as hard for jobs as before. But now there are more options open, I have to be more active in the job search. I’ve applied for three jobs through the agency I’m with, and they’ve sent my CV off to them.
I also got my disclosure form back from the Criminal Records Bureau, which means the nursery that want me to temp for them has received a copy also, and will be contacting my referees, which means I can start working for them.
I should really be doing job searches through Monster, the Job centre’s website and other job search engines every day, and applying for any jobs that look okay. So that’s what I’ll be doing from now on. I’ve also taken on more household jobs, whilst I am home, to help out a bit here, but that’s a little off topic :)
