get a hedgehog

so, sadly on march 3, 2006 my little fishy officer shoe (nee frank) passed away. i came home from work and the little guy was floating upside down. i knew it was coming, he just hadn’t been the same recently. i asked him if he would just stay and make it until his first birthday which we celebrated on march 1, 2006. he’s such a loyal fish, waited until after his birthday to move on. my good friend helped me send him off to fishy heaven. we dropped officer shoe into the water after some some short nice words. it was nice. i miss him tho. :(

so, i gave petcetera a call today, the main local pet store here. the lady gave me some details on hedgehogs..

price: $104 cdn
care: cage needs to be cleaned daily
tlc: they need to be held and hugged very often (that’s so cute!)
eat: “hedgehog food” or kitty food.. (thought that was kinda odd)
bedding: pine or cedar bedding

they only had one left.. sigh.. i dont know if i can get one yet, might have to wait a while longer.. but i think january might be the time. hmmm… continues pondering

they are just too cute! and no one try to eat mine, this one won’t be chocolate. i am planning on getting one soon. right now, i have my fish – officer shoe – and i don’t want him to get jealous. so, if the time ever comes soon when he will pass onto fishy heaven, i will get a hedgehog. next step up, i guess.
