Not backpacking, but it was lots of fun. The crisp weather and the foliage change made the day beautiful. We actually got tracked down by a ranger who thought we were trying to steal endangered plants =D…(by accident we had taken the wrong trail- the maps sucked)- I’m glad he was doing his job though.
Living around Chicago doesn’t give you many accessible places nearby to backpack in…and the Kettle Moraines are so stingy with their shelters! So instead, I’ve got some sanddune action planned at Warren Park this weekend and I’ve managed to convince a non-backpacking friend to come :)Probably just some day hikes, but it’s better than nothing!
