We went camping at Miracle Beach last week for 2 nights. It was great. We missed the Victoria Day long-weekend crowd so there were only a few people around. No neighbours and lots of privacy. The campground had flush toilets and even free hot showers. That totally made the trip excellent for me, I hate pit toilets. Anyways, it was lots of fun sitting around the campfire, eating, playing games, watching the stars, walking the beach, panky in the tent, listening to the birds chirping at 7 am. Pooch was great too, albeit a little confused why we were sleeping outside, she’d never been camping before. I definitely want to go again.
Other than that we spent a few days at home just relaxing and doing a few errands. Today I was back at work and feeling really relaxed and refreshed. Next vacation is the first week of July (just 5 weeks away!). I am trying to organize a girls trip somewhere, maybe camping again or maybe a trip down to the states.

So we have next week off and I wanted to plan an awesome vacation but my BF discovered that his passport expired and I feel like I have been spending a lot of money lately (on what I’m not sure) so I just want to stay here. I’m thinking we could go camping for a few nights, do some day hikes, do some fun things around here, and just relax.
Maybe in the summer we will do a big trip somewhere but now just doesn’t seem like the right time.

This is not necessarily a true vacation but the past weekend we did an over-nighter in Vancouver. I have never actually spent any time enjoying downtown Vancouver, it seems the only time I’ve been there is to go somewhere specific or to drive through to go somewhere else. We left the car behind and walked on the ferry, caught the bus to our hotel & skytrained to downtown. Never done it before and it was fun! I love the skytrain. By the end of it though, we were ready to come home and had enough of the “big city”. Would like to do this again and explore some other areas.
Now planning for May, we are thinking of going to LA & Disneyland…. Maybe…

We still haven’t decided on a place to go for a mini-vacation next weekend. I’m thinking we should stay closer to home since he has a huge project deadline to meet this week and is working crazy hours. I’d prefer to stay in a cabin or resort just outside of town (1 hr away) rather than leave the island. We’ve both been busy lately, so I really just want to spend some time alone with him, relax and enjoy each other’s company in a beautiful setting for a couple days.

I scheduled next Friday off so that my BF and I can have a long weekend and go away somewhere to celebrate Valentine’s day, even though it will be after the 14th. We haven’t decided on a location yet, but thinking Seattle since it’s pretty close and we will only have 3 days.
I have also scheduled off 3 weeks for 2012- 1 in May, 1 in July, 1 in October and a few days around Christmas & New Years.

Submitting my vacation request form for work tomorrow. My vacation hours are wrong on my last paystub so I will need to get that clarified too.
