I’m not pro-ana, but I am pro-rexia. Want to know the difference? Type “Learn how to be rexic” in the “I want to” section. Read my post, join if you want….I highly recommend it over anorexia. Both can be learned, rexia is the only safe one though.

RagingRose has written 4 entries about this goal
Anorexia Nervosa is an addiction to losing weight, being thin. A person with Anorexia is someone who’s lost sight of their health, nothing else matters to them but starving themselves and becoming as thin as possible. Many times this addiction is so strong that they come close to death or will die from it. A person with Anorexia knows they need to eat, they’re starving (literally) but aren’t willing to take care of themselves. They are killing themselves. It’s no longer a lifestyle when this happens ~ it’s simply their life.
Rexia is a lifestyle, a safe lifestyle. Being Rexic means your goal is to lose weight and stay thin, but also healthy in mind and body. Rexi’s do fast, we do restrict, but we also know when we’re coming dangerously close to the line and what needs to be done to correct the issue. We eat foods that are good for us (in moderation), we exercise to keep tone and structure, we fast for short periods of time and we’re conscious about our bodies and our health.
My life is not about losing weight (entirely)...I rather enjoy living it too. I do follow a strict “diet” of vegetables, certain fruits low in sugars and lean meats. I don’t drink anything but water and freshly squeezed juices that I prepare myself. I fast twice a month for approximately five days at a time and I exercise every day. And I keep my calorie intake under 1000. Those are my rules and I don’t break them ever. By eating this way, I still get all the vitamins I need, all the proteins, minerals, good fats and good carbs. I don’t deny my body anything it doesn’t need to survive.
It takes willpower and a strong desire to live like this, but it doesn’t take your life. And that’s the difference between Anorexia and Rexia.
Type in “learn how to be rexic” in the “I want to” field and join me. I’ve got tips, diets, fasting info, exercises just waiting to be shared. The whole goal is to lose weight safely, keep it off and be happy.
Being anorexic is being addicted to losing weight. Anorexics are people who will starve themselves to death because they think they’re fat. It’s a dangerous, deadly addiction that needs to be treated. Being a rexic or practicing rexia is a different story. Rexia is a lifestyle and it’s safe. Being rexic means you’re aware of your health and your situation. You do what you need to lose weight, but don’t go overboard with it. You keep it in check.
I’m Rexic, I practice Rexia. I live a Rexic lifestyle. I’m accutely aware of the dangers associated with this lifestyle and refuse to let myself become addicted to losing weight. If you’re wanting to become Anorexic, I suggest the Rexic lifestyle instead. There are plenty of us out here that can help you, give you advice, diets, exercises, fasts….
People say that anorexia is a disease of the mind, but I don’t believe that. They say that anorexia cannot be learned, but I don’t believe that either. Everything you do has been taught to you. Everything you do has been learned in one way or another. You make that conscious choice of whether you want to know how to do something and if you do, then you make the decision to find out how. Now, whether you have the willpower to do it is a different thing. Anorexia can be learned, developed and refined to fit your life. You have to train your mind and body. It’s not easy. We’re so used to eating whatever we want, whenever we want. That has to change and you have to have the desire to do it. We all know what needs to be done to lose weight and keep it off, but most of us don’t have the will to suffer through the hunger to achieve the goal. If you want to know more, if you have questions, need a buddy, I’m here. A seasoned vet, if you will….Anorexia is my life.
