Start gigging

I was first on, in front of a fairly small audience (things got more crowded later)...who were, appreciative. I got some applause, and some cool comments, and I now have a small wodge of online groupies (they know who they are!).

Also, the organizer has asked me to do another slot at some point. Better get working on the new songs!

A long-time mate of my husband’s, who’s a friend of mine on MySpace, is now in charge of a local open mic night.

The other night he contacted me to ask if I was free to join an upcoming lineup he was working on.

So…I’m ON. May 16th. (Wensum Lodge, Norwich, if anyone’s in the vicinity and wants to come see me embarrass myself.)

Wish me luck…

I think I’m nearly ready to start on this. I need to get a demo done first to send out to the places I know near me that do open mic nights – I have a couple of good recommendations from a friend who’s been doing this much longer than I have.

Thing is, the reason I’m holding back on the demo is that it means I really WILL have to get out there. And that completely terrifies me.
