but a funny one! I just finished June Casagrande’s “Grammar Snobs are Big Meanies: A Guide to Language for Fun and Spite.” Although I don’t agree with everything Casagrande says, I think that she does a good job of explaining some of the most confusing grammar rules.

I just finished Lynne Truss’s “Talk to the Hand: The Utter Bloody Rudeness of the World Today, or Six Good Reasons to Stay Home and Bolt the Door.” This is a quick, funny read. Recommended.
Last night, I finished a book about an anthropology professor who decided to enroll as a freshman in her university, live in the dorms, and study what life is like for today’s students. I used to teach at a college, and I found her study fascinating and recommend it to anyone interested in the college student culture. The book is called “My Freshman Year: What a Professor Learned by Becoming a Student” by Rebekah Nathan.
