So proud to say

That I am still keeping up with this goal. It’s so addictive!
I’ve almost completely filled a 12X12 album, and I’m ready to move on and try an 8.5×11. I’ve even been able to look at my pages from the beginning and I can see my own personal style developing. This is so much fun, and so relaxing. When I get too stressed out, I just go and create something that I know I’ll enjoy forever.

Really getting there!

Wow, a goal I’m actually sticking too. Could this be a new era?

I’ve finished my first gift album. I’ve taken classes. I’ve been to a crop. I know all the lingo and the product lines. Basically, I’m addicted to scrapbooking now.

I’ve started carrying my camera around, so I’m making progress on my other goal to take more pictures. It’s like I’m walking around looking through a camera lens, I’m always looking for a great shot for my scrapbook. It’s so much fun.

I brought my albums to my instructor last night and she said she never would have known it was done by a beginner. I’ve learned so much from message boards an scrapbooking sites.

All of you hoping to get into scrapbooking, I highly reccommend you start now! This is such a great time to get into it, becuase it’s a fast growing hobby and lots of retailers are starting to pick up on it, so you’re not limited to expensive craft stores. WalMart, Target, and even dollar stores have all sorts of really inexpensive stuff you can try out. And Google is your friend!

Michaels is having a sale on 12×12 paper, 5 for a buck. Sweet deal. Plus packs of 50 sheets 8×11 cardstoc, 2.99. I spent less that 15 bucks on enough paper to keep my scrapping for a while. Of course, I’ll probably go back on payday and get some more anyway, since I doubt it will get this cheap for a while. Probably can’t have enough solid colored cardstock.

See, I’m starting to learn all the lingo. I feel like this is a goal I’m really going to accomplish.

The only thing I feel weird about is not having a theme for my book. Everyone else seems to have a “baby book”, “vacation book” or “birthday book”. I just have The Book. Pictures from 20 years ago, some from yeterday. No theme. But once every page is done, I’ll change the order so it will at least be chronological. So I guess it’s the What I Love Book.

Hey, that’s good enough.

I just spent nearly 2 hours locked in my room, making my very first scrapbook page. It’s a 2 page 12×12 layout of one of my little brothers. Very simple, only paper embellishments and some journalling. I even did some “hidden journalling” so that anyone who discovers it will know that this was my very first page.

It certainly isn’t fancy, but damnit I’m proud of it. :)

Researching

Started researching scrapbooking methods today. Found a great website and joined the forum, asked a few questions and got a good basic understanding of what I just got myself into.

Also looked through the gallery of others’ scrapbook pages, got some ideas and inspiration and some warm fuzzy feelings imagining what my future pages will look like.

Took some pictures of my cats today, in preparation for the Kitty Page.

Now if I could just get started with the actual scrapbooking.

I went to AC Moore today and bought the first batch of supplies for my scrapbook. Some creative work got me 40% off of a lot of items. So I ended up with the album, 20 sheets of really nice paper, a ton of stickers, lots of glitter and photo corners and adhesives and stencils and ribbon and all sorts of other goodies for 29$.
