I actually lost weight standing straight and it makes me look thinner when I’m not slouching. It also relieves pressure from my back I like having my shoulders back. No hunchbacking or round-shouldering for me.

Being on the walking machine on a slight incline miraculously helped straighten my back out. Wonders.
Since i have enough money now, I want to buy Earth Shoes. They’re negative heel shoes, which apparently means it puts your heel down a bit so you can stand straighter and have the weight in the right places. Supposed to be like being barefoot, which is the best way to walk. This is good, because I like walking barefoot, but I wonder if the shoes will have the accompanying feeling of air circulation. :P Though I am having a problem, since it seems you can only buy them online, which isn’t good for something like shoes.
Even the Professor encourages it; while doing Brain Age training, I have to sit straight. And I’ve gottent to a point recently where I’m so tired of everything in my upper back hurting that I’m forcing my lower back to straighten out and support the top half. I also don’t like standing like a toddler. It’s undignified and embarassing. As well, my shoulders roll naturally because of the way I sleep, so I have to try and straighten them before I have a hump. I wish I was kidding.
I do make an effort to consciously stand taller, but my computer chair sucks ass. It’s really short and bends back, offering 0 support, and the armrests are a good 6” under my elbow. I had better posture when I used the wooden schoolchair.
The problem is, people here are so short, and being bigger than them is intimidating to them. I guess they’re just wimps. :) So it’s hard, daily.
Because my gut is so huge, I slouch with my gut out and my back bent (mm, attractive :P). I’m so useed to having everything so heavy I don’t notice it much. But I do now, and I know if I pull myself straight it’ll help my back and help get rid of my gut.
