solve a rubiks cube

I found a method that was easier to memorize, although it takes longer to solve. That’s okay. At least I can now pick up a cube and solve it within 5 minutes or so. Down the road I may look into more complicated methods.

I love solving them though! It is so fun!

Ok, I solved the cube! But, I am not claiming this as an “I did it” yet, because I really want to understand how I did it…and remember how so that I am always able to do it!

But for now… I am super happy!!! I solved it!!!

I am always fascinated by hw puzzles work. For me, it isn’t so much the figuring out part, but the understanding what is going on behind each step to solve a puzzle. Recently, one of my students brought in a Rubik’s cube, and it got me fascinated with understanding the steps it takes to solve the cube. My step dad’s father figured this out, but died before I got a chance to sit with him and learn how to do it. I’d still like to learn.
