My husband is from Tunisa and Arabic is his first language. I would love to learn Arabic, especially the Tunisian dialect of it, to understand my husband better. I would love to know what his soap operas are about, or what he is saying to his friends on the phone. I would love to be able to speak to my in-laws in their native tongue. I think it would make them happy if I learned their language. Also, we definitly want our children to speak Arabic. Right now my 3 1/2-year-old son can only speak a few words in Arabic and that is sad. We are planning to send him to a language school when he is a little bit older. We can’t find any schools near us that accept students his age.
I want to learn this language, but Arabic is SO DIFFICULT!!! It is so hard to pronounce. The few words I know in Arabic, I can not pronounce correctly. I will kept trying. If my husband and I decide to move back to his country, I think I will learn the language much faster.
