  • there is love, and we feel it, and way back in ancient times people felt it too.
  • University is amazing.
  • I have free time this weekend. Perhaps to spend on here. Wewt.

  • My Dad’s birthday is in three days.
  • University starts on Monday.
  • I finally got a haircut I like.

  • I have been spoilt enough in life to have the luxury of being frustrated, ungrateful and angry about a few bad hours. (Melbourne’s Public Transport System FTW.)
  • Commentary! The Musical.
  • I’m tired; tired is nicer than lots of other feelings.

04/02/09
  • Lorelai and Luke ended up together on GG.
  • I’m seeing lots of people tomorrow :)
  • The brownies are almost done.

This morning I am having a vegan jam donut + tea for breakfast
+ I get to see my best friend
+ maybe buy some plants for a herb garden.

And I finished a really good book last night.

Why I love being alive now:

  • As a woman, I can vote.
  • I am about to attend University :)
  • I can choose whatever or no religion to practice.
  • My friends are perfect and being with them is perfect.
  • I’m not getting my wisdom teeth out for another 6 months.
  • I am seeing le Grass Hopper tomorrow for the first time this year.

This entry is really hard because I am so grumpy and angry right now. But feelings like these have to end, because I’ve had so many times where I am so happy that it’s like I’m standing in the sun no matter what’s going on or where I am. And I know there are more times like that waiting for me. It is with this in mind that I list these things that make me happy when I feel like I can’t even muster a smile:

Things that I love:

  • The “yes” button on my mobile phone is so much more worn out than the “no” button.
  • The way in which rabbits hop. It’s just fantastic.
  • Tomato tapenade, beetroot dip, tempeh and blueberries.

What I’m excited about:

  • There are an increasing amount of people in my life who love me enough to fight for our relationship, even when I’m shutting down emotionally.
  • I’m starting a herb garden soon, and it’s going to be beautiful and so well taken care of.
  • University offers are now only 3 days away and rather than the wasteland at high school, the subject list at Melbourne is so long and rich and amazing! I am having trouble narrowing them down, it’s a problem I’ve barely even had before.
  • I’m so young now.

Things worth savouring when horrible things that I can’t fix make me depressed:

  • Dancing.
  • Pancakes with lemon and sugar.
  • The bittersweet settling feeling in my stomach when I finish reading a great book.
  • Singing.
  • Seeing the ocean again in 4 days.
  • The satisfaction that comes with writing a poem that rhymes nicely.
  • Leaving every thing I hate about myself on the surface when I dive under water to the one place where I am graceful and, for all intents and purposes, perfect.

03/01/09
  • I just got my hands on a copy of the above. I’ve been meaning to read this since at least last summer.
  • I made vegan special fried rice last night. It was orgasmic.
  • I’m seeing friends tonight who I never get to see.
  • I slept in today and woke up with a lovely dazed feeling that only comes after sleeping in or napping.

Whoa, it feels really weird writing 2009. But yay, New Year!

So here is a Love List:

  • I love that it’s a new year.
  • I love that University offers are coming out in a few weeks.
  • I love my parents for giving me so much without realising just how much it means.
  • I love feeling sort of busy right now even though I’m on holiday.
  • I love cooking healthy vegan food.
  • I love sleeping in the afternoon after staying up late (for once).
  • I love rice pudding.
  • I love somethingbetter for putting me onto this website.
  • I love a cup of tea, no matter what time or how hot it is.
  • I love waking up in the morning with dishevelled hair.
  • I love the Age’s giant crosswords that are only around during summer.
  • And I love…the early Dawson’s Creek.
