It’s been a week since I took the first step towards getting better, making an appointment to see my GP. Today, I got a referral to see a psychologist.
Thank goodness for Australia’s “Better Acces to Mental Health” initiative, which means that GPs, psychologists, and psychiatrists can now bill Medicare. It means zero to minimal out-of-pocket expenses for patients. About time that the government recognized the impact mental health has in society and in people.
