Addictions & Community Services Worker

“Reward yourself with a multi-faceted career that is committed to assisting alcohol and drug abuse clients within your community. CDI College’s Addictions and Community Services Worker diploma caters to students who are interested in working in the professional health care sector. Graduates provide support in child, youth, and family social services, alcoholism, drug abuse, family violence and senior care. Career opportunities also exist in group homes, correctional and community mental health centres, and facilities for the physically and developmentally handicapped. Students are introduced to a wide range of core skills including writing, file management, assessment and treatment planning, counselling, and communications. Since addictions and community service workers are required to interact with clients and health care professionals on a daily basis these core skills are essential to the job. Additionally, students study the topics of psychology, pharmacology, addiction prevention and intervention, and other medical areas. Each student must complete a total of 320 hours over the course of 8 weeks in a mandatory clinical placement. CDI College provides a Career and Employment Strategies course that covers job searching and interviewing techniques, resume writing, and job counselling services to help students prepare for the work world.”

WWFE Working with

21 things i prefer ro be if i have a choice 5 months ago

so i have been searching around looking at different places to exspand myself. i am tired of being a whatever at work. its a drag with you work your ass off and you have no realy job title to be alble to flaunt.. and you always are on edge of someone pulling the plug on you at any given moment. which seems to be a constant in my place of work..

i was at the bus stop growing impatient for waiting for the 106 new west, which always when you just want to go home is late late late. i eventually gave up and when on the 129. my brain got to thinking about some of the things with which im doing in my life. i know i have done a lot of putting the wrong things higher on the priority list. i realised i am great with the complex things in life..but the day to day stuff i seem to lack in.
i have been following a website 43 things and have been keeping track of many of those goals that have slipped through my fingers. not by lazyness, but sheer being exsausted at the end of the journey of a day working on way to many things out of the norm. the norm has its place.

but getting a bank acount, iidentification, my taxes in order, emailing around serching for what i am to be. im almost 30. its time now to begin to take on the “Adult” side of this more often. i still love my youthness and my freedomious feel. but time is time..instablility merly takes away from some of those freedoms. like spending time with my girlfriend, reading a book, feeding my pokemon addictions, going to place i have never been before. travel plans, plays, theater sports and all that stuff that is by past in the crazy of the “hobbies”

but i was on the bus looking through the window knowing that i have gotten through a lot of things so farr. the list dwindles and repaces it with things i never thought i would ever get to...but to fullfill a goal of myne"believe in the laws of attraction" i guess you could say in that "the secret" kinda way. but really using my own energies for the good. i know no matter what i wont get any goal achieved with work. routines changing, lifesttyle changes. home changes, having a place i like to come home to and find solace in because i have a carreer that offers a little stability. that is the heart of any goal really..even to be a rock in a sea of chaos.your still in one spot...

but i think when i got home i began searching and following up on some replys to a email i sent to an inquiries lining out some of the things i have already has much experiance in. now for the “paper” to varify it…the person directed me to options and reading up at the things i will have to learn to master in any councelling, youth,or reconnection, event planning. so i was reading on the course they sugested for the foundations…its not…too exspencive…i felt myself choke up. i hate debt, hate it hate it hate it but it is relitivly minor..but i was reading what i would be learning and i felt my self thinking a head. a lot of it i have some sorta experiance in it..or enough to be able to have some idea of what the speak of..

so i booked marked it and when on the hunt for more knowlage in the areas.some of the work i have been doing at this said non titled work..i do a lot of the things that it says it goes into and am finally seeing some sort of modivation to giver! and LEARN at work…

but i think i have a piece of mind on the career aspects…

this could be somthing grand for mr Rayne STrife..a way to use my skills to be able to like..have traveling, home, motorised item in which to play with, have a kick ass craft room with my Partner. proven a equality with them and learn to be equal with my financal responsibilities..and go to work feeling like i have a good job that gives me freedom, respect, freedom, give my skills to the communitys and the people around me…
