I used to do this all the time when I was in college out in Seattle. if I got stircrazy I would jump in my car and just drive any direction. If I saw something interesting, I stopped. If I got hungry, I stopped. Then I would turn around eventually and come home. I’d leave early in the morning and get home near midnight, and I saw more of the Pacific Northwest that way than I ever did during official “planned” trips! I miss being a gypsy. This will have to happen again.
