Jeans have become my #1 “safeguard” that I put into place when I started losing weight. They are completely unforgiving & will not lie to you. If you gain, they don’t zip. :o)
I got rid of every larger pair as I lost. 2 summers ago I was down to a size 16 (from probably a 30? I don’t know… I was wearing stretch leggings…YUCK…for several years & didn’t start wearing jeans again until I had lost a bunch of weight & was down to a size 24) & they were getting really loose. 14 here we come! Then I started stumbling & the 16s started getting tighter. Whatever. I was going to deal w/ it because I wasn’t about to buy a bigger size… that was my plan. Well… what I didn’t count on was 4 of 6 pairs of size 18 jeans I had given to a friend’s mom coming back to me. I kept them in my car forever, I didn’t want them… should’ve just tossed them. The 16s got ungodly tight & looked REALLY bad on me… so in a moment of desperation (I think I had somewhere important to go) I pulled out the 18s & started wearing them. Gradually, it got to the point that the 18s started getting tight, but luckily, I was able to maintain a 5-10 lb range for almost 2 years that kept me from having to look for a larger size.
Well… w/ my newly committed self & this losing streak I’ve been on the past 2 months, I’m happy to say that the most fitted of my size 18 jeans that were tight can now be washed, DRIED in the dryer & zipped!!! :o) Size 16 here we come!
Actually… at this point in my weightloss 2 years ago, I was already in a 16 & was down about 7 lbs lbs from where I am now when they were loose enough for me to be eyeing the size 14s. I definitely must’ve gained more in my middle than anywhere else over the past few years as I don’t see size 14s on my butt 7-10 lbs from now. Who knows, though, huh? From a tight 18 to a loose DRIED 18 in less than 2 months… 14s could be closer than I realize. :o)
Okay… I’m off to my WW meeting… was just pretty darned excited about being able to dry & zip these, I just had to ramble a bit. :o)
