It arrived on Friday 30 October, suddenly, without warning.

My Packard Bell is toast.

I was standed, as though my right arm had been lopped off.

Hours expended in running around to get it sorted.

Blue is not my favourite colour anymore.

who worked for a business colleague, committed suicide the day before yesterday.

She had battled with bi-polar disorder.

I feel desperately sad for her, for her Mom, for her colleagues and friends.

She waited for her Mom to leave on a trip to London.

So sad.

I don’t like internet service providers.

It has taken 1 week of STRUGGLE to get my 3G card working again. And different answers/ assumptions from every person I spoke to. Countless hours wasted.

Note to these people: IT WAS NOT A USER PROBLEM.

No cheers to give, none received.

Expunged. Wiped out. A shadow.

I totally understand the principles behind this. But do any graduates who have slogged through the onerous steps required to get a bachelor’s, then an honours, then a master’s degree, to finally get admittance to a DBA or PhD or D Ed, usually while working at a demanding and stressful job, not feel even a teeny bit aggrieved that with RPL, in certain institutions, some people are getting admitted to , for e.g. an MBA without a basic degree?

Is RPL not being misused?

(Putting aside the fact that such institutions are not usually the top flight ones…)

My feelings: I feel aggrieved,but then I remind myself that I gained infinitely more by going through the whole process step by step.

It’s SUNDAY here, and I have not one single cheer.

I alos get my cheers in measly dribs and drabs: I want a whole bunch to distribute.

Two people, who are working FOR US,tore into myself and another lead person on a project,with a litany of complaints about all sorts of things, such as time available for the project (they didn’t have to agree to do it); amount they are being paid (again,they did not have to agree); what sections of work they were given(again, they did not have to agree and indeed decided amongst themselves who would do what) and so on and so on.

And the next day,in front of the (difficult) clients,both started shouting and performing – becasue I asked one of them to distribute the draft material. I leaned forward and hissed ‘shut up’. Each time one of them opened their mouths I said ‘shut up’.

I was so angry with them! Such behaviour is unconscionable!

I wasabout to simply fire two people from the project when finally things settled down. It’s about egos, sentience, power, jostling for space.

NOT looking forward to the next two days of workshops.
