The wlaking shoes were decidedly unglamorous and actually far too hot. They were abandoned thereafter.
Browsing at a stall.
I amsorry that Idid not purchase some attractive origami=decorated cards. We went back later but the stall was closed.
Son and I each drew a fortune (both were quite good) and then we tied them ceremoniously onto this frame.
was pruning a tree in the temple precinct.
I felt a bit embarassed about taking the picture – it seemed so intrusive.
Yet I am glad that I have the memory.
This is a large temple precinct and there were many fascinating sights here.
My son is the natty hatted figure in the foreground.
I enjoyed seeing a number of young girls in light summer kimonos visiting the temple.
and I got my sister to write it out in calligraphy.
I did not manage to take a really good picture of it, but here is one. (I did not manage the light from the lamp in the room well.)
Thissnap will gove an idea of what it says, though.
Phensy’s poem is now at the foot of the statue, wedged amongst a collection of paper cranes.
I read it aloud and then placed it there.
