I like that I’ve overcome a good portion of my social anxiety.

Several years ago, it was a major challenge for me to even pick up the telephone.

Dialing a number especially, as I had to write down exactly what I wanted to say during the phone conversation, check it over many times, rehearse it, then an hour later finally call the number and read from my notes like a script.

But now, things like that aren’t a problem at all.

My luck shows itself in a big way at times. When a situation looks bad, good things seem to happen to me.

I like the weird dreams I get on an almost regular basis.

I’ve never had any nightmares, although some of the interpretations have potential to become quite scary.



My 21-25 2 years ago

To follow up on my previous entry: I thought about creating that “43 things I hate about myself list”, but such a list would only serve to make me feel even worse when the list is complete. So I’m forgetting about that idea.

With that thankfully out of the way, I’m noticing I’m in a better mood today (and much happier too), so I’ll make up for lost time and continue onward.

21. I like my scrambled and not 100% known ethnic mix (I’ve been asked if I was Russian, Chinese, British, and others)

22. I like my scrambled accent (Some people have asked if I’m from England, South Africa, New Zealand, or other places. I don’t think I have an accent, but isn’t that always the case)

23. Being able to appreciate peace and quiet.

24. Living by myself (#23 helps with this)

25. Saved up a large amount of money (in case of emergencies, good or bad)

Five more reasons there. That’s good enough for now I think, and I’ve passed the halfway point. This goal certainly is taking a while, but I’m glad that I am able to add things to my list (And then I realize, I like me! Now that’s therapy)

But not today, I’m not in the right mood for it. Maybe tomorrow.

The “43 things I don’t like” goal would be much easier to accomplish for me I think.



17-20, Proving to be more difficult than I thought 2 years ago

I had to wait until I was in the right mood before continuing my journey toward completion of this goal. I think I’m ready now, so let’s go.

17. I’ve become more accepting of my height. (I used to be self-conscious of it)

18. I like the “mole” on my left cheek. (Used to bother me when I was younger)

19. I really don’t mind at all that my upper body’s muscles aren’t big.

20. I always treat everyone with respect, regardless of age.

And 15 minutes pass. I wonder. Would it be considering “cheating” to look at other people’s lists and “borrow” entries which agree with me?



My 10-16 2 years ago

Continuing my list, it’s time for some more. I wanted to go up to 19, but the caffeine effect is fading fast.

10. I’m not giving up on finishing this list.

11. I consider myself to be a fast learner, picking up on new things quickly.

12. I’ve reduced my TV watching time to less than 1 hour per day.

13. I no longer drink any kind of carbonated beverages, except club soda, which fulfills the craving quite nicely.

14. It’s been almost 2 months since I’ve ordered a large pizza, and eaten it completely in the same day.

15. I tend to stand out in a crowd of people, and I like that.

16. I’m happy with my age. Given the choice, I’d start my life over at the age I am now.



Starting this, here's my 1-9 2 years ago

It’s about time I start this list, so here’s a few in no real order:

1. I’m starting to think better of myself.

2. I’m able to stay calm even in the most chaotic of situations.

3. When I set my mind on a task, it gets done.

4. I’ll always try new things/tasks/foods once, even if it turns out to be an unenjoyable experience.

5. I live in a location that I like.

6. I have good handwriting. Some people recently told me that. I thought that was interesting, since I’ve always considered otherwise.

7. My Body Mass Index is in the “Healthy” range.

8. I always keep a positive outlook on the future.

9. I’m never bored, I always keep myself busy.
