Been putting ointment on the skin around the nails to get everything to heal. Been using the nippers a lot too to make sure there are no hangnails, etc. Seems to be helping.
Had to start trimming the nails a little bit. Because of the tearing of the nail when I bit them they are coming in unevenly. They’ll be cleaned up soon enough.
Still scared to death of the taste of this stuff on my nails.

Foiled by site updates when I was trying to log in the last couple of days. I got some stuff from Hoof Hands called Kick the Habit Stop the Bite. Found it at Walmart by the nail polish, etc. That might be the single most vile tasting substance I’ve ever had the misfortune of putting in my mouth. Subconsciously I put my finger in my mouth while sitting at a stop light. I almost had to pull over once the light turned green because of the violent reaction to the taste. If your struggling with this bad habit try the stuff. I’m afraid to bring my hands above my shoulders right now. :)

Put the bad tasting stuff on. Now I have nails that look like I’m wearing clear polish smirk. That ought to help me kick the habit faster.
2 down, 40 to go.

Day 1.0 – before going to bed I brushed my nails, and moisturized the skin around the nails. Thought here is if I take better care of them I won’t chew on them. Also picked up some of the rancid tasting polish type stuff you brush on. Will apply that in the AM.
They say it takes 21 days to make or break a habit. Since I’ve got two actions per day we’ll call this 1/42.
