Quit being so obsessively private about myself.

So I have come to realize that this have little to do with privacy and a lot to do with control. Go figure… I still need to work on this.

Now my boss approached me, telling me we needed to “talk”, because he heard I was leaving in February. What the hell, man. I wasn’t ready to give notice yet, that’s why I hadn’t said anything yet.

I’m talking about! A co-worker came into my office just now to discuss when my husband and I will be leaving this job. (We both work on a very large construction project.) Now, I don’t know who it is that was telling her we were leaving in February, but I want to hunt them down and beat on them. Why do these people think they need to know the intimate details of my life? I understand her interest in when I might be leaving, since she has to consider who might fill my position when I leave. But the people who brought it to her attention? People please!

Now, I realize that I might be over-reacting to this. Hence my goal to quit being so private. I’m not sure where the line of normal interst is here, but I truly think it was crossed…

...unbelievably so. I don’t want people to know what I’m doing, what I’m thinking, my plans, goals, etc. So this is a good exercise for me, to post my thoughts and opinions on 43things, for everyone to see.
