The other day I got the strongest whiff of “Buffalo Wings” and it really set my mouth to watering and my mind to wandering. Sigh. Fortunately, potatoes fried with onions and dowsed with lemon juice and ketchup is a pretty close option… I guess I could have dumped Buffalo sauce on the ‘taters, but I didn’t have any. Sigh.
That was really my very first temptation.

I was out of town for business for two days this week. The second day of the conference is the big banquet… So there we all sit, 10 to a table, elbows in the butter… Everyone is being served chicken breast (what a surprise!) with mashed potatoes and green beans.
Then, out comes my “special order” vegetarian meal. Voila!
Angel hair pasta tossed with steamed broccoli, mushrooms and a thick, chunky tomato sauce. Served with whole grain rolls (piping hot, not the styrofoam bread on the table).
Everyone at the table (with one exception, actually) had smirked when they found out I wasn’t receiving the meat-based meal. They stopped smirking when I got hot, fresh, flavorful, original, non-dry food.
Nee-ner-nee-ner-nee-ner!

...still haven’t eaten meat …and really don’t ever see a time when I would / could.

Went out for Chinese with Chris today – it was wonderful – hadn’t sat down with her for months. Anyway… I got an egg roll – they didn’t have spring rolls – I figured maybe it wasn’t with meat or maybe with seafood or maybe those little squares of pork that would be easy to pick out. I broke open the egg roll and it was made with the granulated sausage-like stuff. I tried a little sliver of cabbage, thinking maybe, just maybe, it would be okay. Nope. Couldn’t do it. Literally unable. Guess this “Thing” might be pretty easy to work through.
