see Les Miserables

Saw this on Broadway back in February—it was AMAZING. Just WOW. As someone who’s worked in technical theatre, I couldn’t help but appreciate how they’d staged the suicide, and the running sets, and the sheer magnitude of it all.

I was amazed and delighted.

The big plan I posted about in my last entry under this goal? Complete. I have two plane tickets and two seats at the Broadhurst in February.

We’re going to a matinée, which is not exactly my preference but does mean my chances of getting mugged in New York go down substantially. We’re sitting in right orchestra, seats 2 and 4—aisle A. WOO!

I am SO excited, and yet I still have to wait a couple months to go!

My boyfriend absolutely LOVES Les Miserables and really wants to see it on Broadway. Unfortunately, we live in California, and we’re college students, so the opportunity just hasn’t presented itself yet.

Well, I’m tired of waiting for the situation to present itself and I’m forcing it to happen. For the biggest present ever (and mine too!), I’m going to set up a trip for two nights in New York, the second of which (17 Feb 07) we will see the performance.

I need as much help with this as I can get, though—recommendations on cheap ways to stay (maybe someone has an extra bedroom, even?), ideas on how to save on airfare (quotes right now run about $650 for both of us, round-trip), and help with affiliate programs and donations and things of that nature. If anyone can help me with this in any fashion, even just buying stuff from Amazon.com from an affiliate link, I would be INCREDIBLY grateful.
