I have long been discontented about the state of the world. It doesn’t take a lot of brain power to realized that the world is full of a lot of unnecessary suffering and degradation. But we are brought up by society to accept things as ‘just the way they are.’ For me this has never been easy. I am incapable of accepting the problems of our current system without looking for solutions. Such solutions for me have always seemed like compromises. You see, I have long wished to be left alone to grow vegetables, raise animals, produce electricity and basically live separate from a society I see as very sick. I don’t feel it is conducive to my thriving and so I have sort an environment where I can thrive. However, you can not run away from society, the monetary system is design to ensure this. You still have to pay taxes, rates, mortgages, etc etc. I have never understood why there isn’t space enough in the world for everyone to have a free holding upon which to build a home, and produce all the necessities of life. But that is just the way it is… ha
The Venus Project is the first real solution to societies problems that I have ever encountered. Simply put, the current (monetary) system produces its own problems (corruption, crime, poverty, subservience/slavery, technical and social stagnation). The Venus project offers an alternative model for how society could be, we just all have to work together to make it happen. That right, I don’t want to run away from our sick society, I want to be apart of its transformation.
