20 Play Dates

Lydia is so bright and I like her mother. We should invite her over more often.

Nine has figured out how to use the phone and even leaves messages so now we have play dates almost every weekend.

Max was easy. We should have him over more often.

No agenda, just play

School was closed early because of the expect storm, that did not arrive until much later. Gabby could not eat the oatmeal cookies because she is lactose intolerant so we made cookies with olive oil instead of butter and they were delicious.

Baseball games are on Saturdays. I arrived with one kid and left with three. Might be the start of a pattern.

Early dismissal is usually a puzzle for working parents. Both kids were happy and busy. Good deal for all.

Eight’s play date with Alec was fine. He is in the same grade, but a year younger and very busy.

Seven’s soccer game was rained out so Sammy came over and we made several batches of Italian cookies. She explained that if she brought home cookies then her older brother would eat them all. I gave her an extra large box.

Finally! a play date with Jason, the “best friend”. Seven arranged the play date without the knowledge of the parents so we were all a bit surprised to learn that Jason was coming over after the soccer game. We are amused at his initiative.
