QUITE as lush & intoxicating as one might wish . . . but cyber-chocolate is like that, I guess. :-)

I learned about last night. Bear with me—it may sound strange.
A traditional Mayan form of hot chocolate involves mixing & heating chocolate, water, & a sweetener (I imagine it would have been from sugar cane) with corn mash. The result: a deliciously thickened nutritious beverage.
To me it sounds wonderful! Have some with me . . .
I do because my 43T friends invite me to! I am losing the feeble shards of a mind I once had.
But chocolate-mmmmmm-is worth it, when it’s cyber-chocolate & doesn’t mess up my Lenten discipline.
I just had Colombian hot chocolate tonight (Sundays are feast days even during Lent, so this was allowed). This chocolate is dark & packaged as hard segmented rectangles. You have to break off segments with a heavy knife or cleaver. I like the kind that has added sugar, cinnamon & cloves. You melt the chocolate in a little water over low heat, then add milk & more water, heat, then beat till frothy. There’s a traditional wooden implement for this, but I don’t have it; I just use a whisk. So yummy.
Want some?? And what exotic kinds of chocolate can you offer me, stranger?
