Keeping Track...

This is the evolution of one of those things that my high school English teachers tried to get me to do, but that I never really had the conviction to pursue (until now.) It’s very simple, just to keep track of everything I am reading and or learning, from books, to magazine articles, significant blog postings, podcasts, to lectures I attend at Seattle’s Town Hall.

Long ago, an old friend impressed upon me the importance of “citing my sources” (Michael Barr.) I strive to cite my sources, but lately I am finding that I am doing a lot of “I can’t remember where I read it, but…” Hopefully this will serve as a nice refresher list that I can return to to jog my memory, and perhaps to comment upon conversations I have had relating to what I learned.

I have also noticed that I have been spending a lot of time at home simply surfing the internet. It’s time to turn something that could become a bad habit into a fruitful activity. The point of this exercise is to transform an hour of simply surfing into perhaps an hour watching a first class lecture from one of America’s top Universities.
