So far, our steps in a better direction have been:
1. Composting the food scraps we do create, and the vegetables that do go bad.
2. No more opaque containers in our refrigerator (like yellow plastic grocery bags from our local grocer)—out of sight, out of mind seems to be especially true for vegetables, and then they go bad!
3. Cutting up some of veggies into snack sized pieces ahead of time to encourage us to eat them in a timely manner.
