and thought it would be fun to use at some point. It’s from an old book, Vermont – It’s Resources and Opportunities by Walter H. Crockett and published in 1916.

and character names are things that are coming to me lately. There are names that I associate with people I have known in my life and will impact how I use them. Evan – is a name I associate with an extremely smart person. Could I use this name for a physicist? I think so. But some names just have a time period written all over them. My Grandma’s name was Mabel. Not a name anyone names their babies anymore. But it’s something I could definitely use for historical fiction, can’t I?

So, I’m listing names and giving them personality qualities and will contemplate how I will use them throughout the story. I’m enjoying this!

on my book. Maybe I should switch to writing an autobiography. That would be far more interesting, perhaps. Problem is, I don’t know the ending. I have some good ideas about how I would want it to end, the details of which are ongoing from the writer’s perspective, but I’m not into tragic endings. So, the final chapter would have to be a happy surprise ending. Sappy, I know. Can’t help it.

Time Travel in Einstein's Universe 2 years ago

by J. Richard Gott is a very good read and I’m working my way through it right now. Some interesting concepts and quite a few theories on time travel. Although I can never fully grasp all of what Gott writes about, I can really appreciate his passion and knowledge for his work. (He’s an astrophysicist) I want to find a concept I believe is the most feasible and incorporate this into my book. But I don’t want to be too lengthy with it – just enough to present the method my characters use to accomplish this.

on this next book. I’m combining some subjects with which I am fascinated – the roaring twenties and string theory. Strange combination? Yes, but it’ll be fun doing this. Spent some time last night working on the first couple of chapters. I’m thinking the time will be the present, as well as 1926, but the majority will take place in 1926. That era has always fascinated me. String theory? My first impression of this was from Brian Greene’s The Elegant Universe. Truly fascinating stuff. I will delve into that!
