is in her studio for the next 3 days for Open Studio Weekend and I was able to stop in and see her work, as well as see her work with etchings. She is SO good. I really really like etchings and would like to try my hand at it sometime.
You can see her work here: www.carolmacdonald.com

collection. I need to research and find out who the artist is.
And it was damaged in a flood, so it will need some restoration…

I just can’t help but feel good when I see Tiger Lilies. I just think of sunny days, good times, and special people…

I went to The Frame of Mind Gallery in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho today and really enjoyed what the owner had on display. In particular, I liked the work of Carl Funseth, who paints images from the past, which I like so much.
This painting is called Pennington Hotel, so it captures my appreciation for the past, hotels, and clock towers. Great combination by a very good artist, in my opinion.

are always something that help remove all the negative and ugly images I see in the world on a daily basis. I love the distant moon and the memories I have of gazing up at the dark, star-filled sky on a cool summer night in the back yard of my parent’s home when I was a kid.
Ansel Adams was the king of photography in my book.

His images help me escape MY WORLD and enter another. That’s the genius of a real artist!

To me, he was the ultimate photographer. I could flip through his photos for hours and hours. Really inspiring and deep material he produced in his life time. I love ALL of it.

all the time.
Maybe some day I can make this dream a reality. For the time being, though, I’d like to go back up again and enjoy the amazing sensation of powerless flying. It’s like a bird, I’m telling you.
To me the silhouette of a glider is the most beautiful image of anything ever made to fly.
