I think it’s serious…
Today I had some business at an elementary school and met with a custodian because there were no administrative staff or teachers available because of tomorrow’s holiday. The custodian was mid-fifties, work clothes and unshaven. No big deal. I’d go unshaven once in a while if I didn’t have to shave daily. I didn’t have a significant impression about him until this: two girls (probably 11-12 years old) walked by, looked in our direction, smiled and said “bye” and then left the building. They looked like elementary aged girls. Nothing else. The custodian eyed the girls and then turned to me and said, “and they wonder why they get raped.” WHAT? I NEVER expected to hear this in an elementary school and by a custodian. These were little girls.
Now, none of us are immune to saying things we don’t mean sometimes. Even dumb things. But this came out like he’s said it before and I literally felt ill after the encounter with this man. Granted, these were merely words…but to me it speaks volumes about what’s going on in this man’s mind…and he works in a school.
I am concerned about this man 1) working for an elementary school & 2) being around young girls. I think there’s something seriously wrong with a man who would say something like this.
I think the school district should be aware of this and do their own investigation of someone they employ to be around so many children on a daily basis. 1) I don’t work for this school & 2) I don’t have any children attending. So, is this any of my business or am I doing the right thing in letting someone know what kind of person they have working in a building full of innocent children?

technologies to make life more enjoyable and ways to communicate easier, is society becoming better? Or are people nastier than ever to one another?

My number one goal is gone…vanished… Is that an omen for what I really want to accomplish here? Do the robots know something I don’t?

If Pyongyang

had a Six Flags over Pyongyang, do you think the North Koreans would still march for Kim Jong-il 위대한 령도자 (Great Leader)? Surely they want to have as much fun as the rest of us. ...that and maybe eat Italian once in a while…

that a leaf can survive 87 years in a scrapbook? It’s attached and protected by nothing more than glue and original scrapbook paper. It’s as if it was placed in there just yesterday when you see the leaf’s condition. Only the paper appears to be old.

a residential neighborhood, a place with sidewalks on both sides, and see a guy walking up the road. Why? And this is not uncommon… I don’t understand what the purpose of sidewalks are if people don’t use them.
