Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, or stand in the gate of the sinner, or sit in the seat of the mocker.
But he delights himself in the law of the lord and meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted beside water whose leaves do not wither. All he does prospers.
Not so the wicked, they are like chaff that the wind blows away.
Therefore the wicket will not stand in judgement, nor the sinner in the assembly of the righteous.
For the Lord watches of the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
Psalms 1
Our family just memorized this over the past few months, it is a nice place to start

As I think thru my priorities, this I had to put to number 3. Not because I want to be a smartypaints and be able to slurt out scriptures at a whim and look really smart, but because it will complement my #1 Priority. My chief purpose is to glorify God with my entire life, but how am I to know what does that… well simple the scriptures:
(question 2 from the Shorter)
Q: What rule hath God given to direct us how we may glorify and enjoy him?
A: The word of God, which is contained in the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, is the only rule to direct us how we may glorify and enjoy him.
I need to impress this upon my heart(mind) and make my actions second knowledge to how I live out my first priority. If I know what gives God Glory, then I will be able to live out this purpose.
So, Does anyone have a good place to start, I was thinking of scriptures in Proverbs, since this is practical wisdom.
I think if I make a practical goal of Memorizing at least 1 verse a week.
