I can’t believe I never made one before. My kids are really picky, which is part of the reason I never cook for them. They love pizza, but onion is the only topping all three of them like. Well, in the interest of health and budget, I have decided to master the are of the pizza, with a whole wheat crust. Suprisingly, the whole wheat crust option has fallen out of favor, but I was always fond of it.
Tonight I used a recipe of five parts whole wheat to two parts white flour. Everyone liked it but I don’t think it will be the winning recipe. Next time, I am going to try a Wolfgang Puck recipe that uses all whole wheat flour and honey. I am also going to buy a pizza stone.

In general, I haven’t been cooking as much as I would like. I barbeque for lunch, but I’m very rarely cooking dinner. I made my famous lentils tonight. I would like get back in the habit of making a big pot of legumes on Sunday like I did when I was in school.

I cooked tonight but mainly because my wife was sick. I made chicken tacos. I pulled the meat off a roasted chicken I bought for lunch yesterday and heated in a pan with olive oil, shallots, and garlic and italian seasoning. I had chopped cucumber, shredded carrots, chopped spring mix and mild fresh salsa….and Crystal hot sauce to put in the tacos. They were delicious. I melted mozzarella on Alvarado St. buns for my vegetarian son.
