my last mousey, Ruffles, died. I left Friday morning and I was watching her play and when I came home Friday night, she had died. It is sad and bums me out that I don’t have a little friend to watch scurry around in her little home. It is very sad.
But on a positive note, I can take her cage off my desk, without the fear of placing it somewhere else where my cats might not knock it over and hurting the contents. Without the hamster/mousey cage, my living room desk is free to be used as its original purpose – a desk to study and write at.
Maybe I will be able to work on my Spanish as well as do a bit more last minute preparing for NaNoWriMo.

I love getting newletters from this website because they have weekly lessons, a list of verbs and other vocabulary words that help me with improving my Spanish.
It might help others currently with the same goal of Improving my Spanish move forward toward achieving this goal in a positive manner.

Of course, it is is simple, but I think I should re-start simple. The basics.
I didn’t write anything down, because the first 2 activities were saying verbal things like “Me llamo Luis” Y tu?, etc, so I was going through the names listed as well as the next activity which was De Donde es? It was funny to hear me saying Soy de Marion or Findlay or Columbus or even Ogdensburg.
I feels good to actually be reusing my Spanish. I will have to find a way to use it everyday at home, like maybe listing the objects at home or something.
It is a start. And I started it!

and I am all set up with a note book to start relearning, improving and using a bit of Spanish daily.
I should have time Saturday to really buckle down on this goal. It isn’t that hard.
Hola! me llamo Pepita (At least it was the name I adopted when I took Spanish class when I was in High school. It was toss up between Pepita and Pillar. I still like Pillar a lot.
I guess I will have to start speaking in Spanish to my cats when I am home in order to get in the habit.

When after I do a bit of cleaning. I will look for my Spanish book and try to set up some time to go over the lessons in the chapter (like I am in school)
I know that I have a Spanish language computer program some where as well. I will have to see if I have that as well.

I am planning on get out my Spanish book and start completing the exercises found in the book, but my apartment is so disorganized that I can’t start it yet.
The 1st step toward completing this goal is collecting everything I need.
Spanish Dictionary
All Spanish language books that I have
New notebook
Once I have got that step completed, I will take the step toward sitting down and reading a chapter a night. Once I have done this for at least two weeks, the goal will have been completed.

Last Thursday, as I was sitting in my car reading a book and enjoying a bit of junk food (yes, I had a little bit, but not much)
This Mexican man came up to my car and started talking to me. It was kind of nice to have a little bit of company and have someone to talk to but I realized that it wasn’t really that. The man, Raul, was looking for a girlfriend and he was focusing on me.
At first he thought I was Mexican myself because he asked me why I spoke English so well. I told him that I had no Hispanic blood in me. I was born and raised on American soil. My dark hair comes from my mother’s Indian blood line and my pale skin comes from my father’s French blood line.
He spoke to his friend very rapidly in Spanish but I couldn’t make out a lot. I did make out words like “here, me, what, etc” but nothing that I could make out in a sentence. I am very very rusty with my Spanish.
He was asking me all kinds of questions about where I lived and if I was looking for a boyfriend. God forgive me for telling him that I had one. I told him about T and how he was in Iraq. Raul just kept on saying that wouldn’t I rather have someone to be with me right now instead of waiting for him. I told him that I choose to wait.
We talked about a couple things and how I know a little bit of Spanish. It was kind of fun that he and his friend were helping me with certain words that I couldn’t remember. I am sure they were just both thinking it was hilarious that I knew words like shoes, milk, Tuesday, mad, handsome, sad. It was fun to have someone help me a bit of my Spanish.
I haven’t seen Raul since Thursday, which I am kind of relieved because I am not interested in him. He is pursuing me for different reason than I would rather not have. I would just like to have a friend at this time, and he is not looking for that. He was just a bit pushy with me.
I really need to get cracking about brushing up on my Spanish. I would really like to become fluent again like I was in High school.
