Last night I was trying to keep my mind off of particular things. I wasn’t doing a good job of it. Still, I thought it would be funny to watch Kung Fu Panda 2 in French by turning the closed caption option from English to French.
I have been wanting to learn French and I have learned a lot of words over the years from my French speaking Cousin, Denis. So I thought it was another way to learn by the way of Osmosis.
It was a bit fun. :o)

When I was at the Salvation Army looking for a book, I went by the toy section to see what kind of baby dolls they had. I thought if one enticed me, I might get one.
I am kind of picky when it comes to what I like. There were dozens of baby dolls, but none of them amused me at all. Then I saw it, it was the back and I grabbed it and looked at it. Something within me felt close to this doll. It took me a minute to realize why. It was a type of baby doll I would have had when I was younger. I looked at the back of the neck to see that it was manufactured in 1982. It was the type of baby doll that kind of lasts over time. Its hair was matted and short in areas. It had a cute little onesie on. It was only 49 cents, so I bought it.
I namely bought it to take to lunch on May 2, for Take a Baby to Lunch Day. I know it seems silly, but that is the reason why I am going to do it. Because it is just pointlessly silly, and that can be loads of fun!
I thought I might crochet a little something for it, maybe even making a little quilt for it and then give it to the Cowboy’s girls or some other little girl that is lacking toys.
This is going to be fun. Pointless, yet so very fun!

Dancing while blowing bubbles with the Cowboy’s little daughter, S.
I was taking my tires out of the trunk of my car, when I spied the bottle of bubbles. It was the one reason, why I left them in there. I grabbed them and opened them up. It was a bit breezy, so I held the wand to the air and the gently breeze created tons of bubbles for me, as I keep dipping it in the liquid. S. was dancing around trying to catch them, as I danced around the grass, holding the wet wand high and re-dipping it when it was exhausted of its magically liquid. We could have done this for a good half and hour, but the Cowboy was getting the bikes ready to ride, so I put them up. I can’t wait to do that again with both of the girls.

As I was walking out to my car to go to work (as I have been leaving about 45 minutes to 30 minutes earlier then I have to), I picked a dandelion that went to seed. I know that many people call them Dandelion Clocks. Well, I picked it and thought about all the people in my life: My Poppa, my mother, my siblings, the Cowboy and his girls and I thought about all the wishes they might have, and I blew. I hoped that as the little parachutes of seeds danced off into the air, that like those high flying things, my loved one’s dreams and aspirations would fly and take off too.
It was a bit of lovely, joyful fun, regardless that it was also pointless. It didn’t matter, because it made me smile.

I was creating and having fun making my travel mascot. It took me about 6 hours to do it. I shared my new creation with someone and she asked me why I would make a travel mascot. I told the person there was no reason, it was just all out of fun. I told her that it just would make going and exploring new places more fun, especially when I am alone. She then said “It sounds like it would be fun.”
I made my little travel mascot special. I found a pattern and I crocheted him myself. I made special touches to him, by stuffing him with a little red felt heart and sewing little brown beads for eyes and embroidering a little pink nose and mouth.
When he was all down and stuffed, I made a little red felt scarf for him and took him to Subway. He is first traveling place. I put a seat belt on him and took several pictures of him that day. It was very fun and made me feel kind of silly.
I guess silliness is all part of having a little bit of pointless fun.

When I was with the Cowboy over at this friend’s house, there was a bunch of colored chalk laying around on the porch. The kids were milling around playing, so I picked up a piece and made a series of smiley faces close to where the children had made various drawings. I have to say that it felt very good playing with chalk. I had forgotten how much fun chalk could be. I will have to buy some for more fun during the Spring and Summer season.
Smiley faces all around for having a bit of pointless fun!

While I was at Wal-mart getting my oil changed in my car, I picked up a big bottle of Bubbles, as my bubbles at home were losing their soapy-ness or something. (I might have added some dish soap or something to them in the past and now they don’t want to make bubbles as much as they used to)
So after I got my car cleaned out and ready for my weekend trip to see the Cowboy (that meant mostly loading up my mountain bike in car) I took out my new batch of bubbles and tried them out. The wind was slightly blowing so it was lovely to watch the bubbles fly off with the wind.
When I was done, I packed the bottle of bubbles in my trunk of my car, as I might used them again during the weekend.

Now, everyone (or almost everyone) has to do their taxes, but “I” on the other hand do my taxes with smiley faces! Tax season is never a happy time for a lot of people. And for me it isn’t the great either, because I never get a lot of money back. So to counteract, any unpleasant feeling I might have about doing my taxes, I decided to decorate the envelope in which my taxes were in. I was a little bit limited with the media I could use, so I had to be creative about it.
I drew little designs with my highlighters and a pen. I stuck a “Thanks for Shopping at Kroger” sticker as well as a “Plaintiff’s Exhibit” sticker (which had a mass of little smile faces on the blank line) on the envelope. I cut out a brightly colored (out of Hot pink and Teal blue Post-It notes) snowflake and taped it to the back of the envelope.
When I was done, I had two brightly colored and happy little envelopes. It made me feel good to decorate something so drab and boring. I had so much fun doing it, I think I might make it a habit to do that every year.
I just hope it brightened someone’s day that sees it. It is just a part of me having a bit of pointless fun!

I was feeling a bit silly today. Feeling awfully good, a matter of fact. I have to say that I haven’t felt so content with my life in a long time. So I took out my bottle of bubbles (which I usually only use in special occasions and holidays) and blew a couple of bubbles. Some of them were a bit weak (I think the container is a bit old, I have had them for at least 6 or 7 years ) but the ones that did fly were beautiful in the sunlight.
It was simple, yet very enjoyable. I will have to remember to buy a couple more so when I see the Cowboy and his girls, we can blow bubbles together. I am sure they will love doing that!
Just a bit of silly fun that was enjoyable. I really love doing this goal. It makes my life so much happier.

I was talking to the Cowboy (via text) and he was having a rough day. It was about things that I can’t really help him on, yet I felt compelled to do something, as I am very attached to him. I have told him jokes in the past, but I didn’t think that it would pull it off, but I really needed something to make him forget about his worries for a while and smile.
Then I got this wacky idea in my head and before I could really think much about it, I said.
“Try to smile a little if you can. . .because I am naked”
Okay, I sent this to him, knowing that I AM AT WORK. I couldn’t help but laugh when I sent it. I thought it would have been a good April Fool’s Joke, that would get his attention.
Well, his response back was “LOL, Now that IS a reason to smile!” I then reminded him that I was at work, and I couldn’t be naked, of course. It was a late April Fool’s joke. He just said that he knew that, but it made him smile never the less.
On a positive note, at the end of the day I asked him to tell me one positive thing that happened to him today. His response was: “Um…I thought of you nekkid :) Does that count?” All I could do is laugh, because the joke to make him smile, was one that made his whole day better. LOL
Just a bit of “dirty” yet smile-worthy-to-a-Cowboy, pointless fun. :oP
