finish my masters degree

Second time, I have submitted my thesis. Now… lets hope!! I am not kidding when I say that this is way harder than I thought. Could be because I am trying to make it too perfect but when I think about it, I still enjoyed doing this. Should have the results in a month or so…

Well, I caved in to the pressure and requested more time. Thankfully my study leader feels my research will actually mean something somewhere so I have one more year. Now I just better make it work! Pretty sure I will, I am even starting to enjoy all the math. Wow… did I say that? :)

I simply cannot get away from work this past two months and I cannot see it being any different for the next three weeks at least. There is a multitude of deadlines and a whole array of problems. I feel a bit trapped really, this is not the way to handle a project but I cannot see it changing anytime soon. Think I should just stop caring and let them sort out themselves. At least I am feeling very positive about my master’s topic, I am sure I can make it work… when I get the time to properly define it :)

Whoohoo. The final subject is done and I just have to complete my thesis. Changed my topic to digital forensics and so far it is going great! If all goes well, then I could be done by next year June. Would be pretty cool to finish, I really want to start with my CERT exams as well.

It feels like this past few weeks is killing me slowly. I want to spend time with my love, go to gym, walk my dog, wash my car, do the really small stuff that means so much to me. Instead I rush to work in the morning, work my butt off, rush home at night to study and do my research and then drop into bed for a 5 or 6 hour sleep.

Add to this the ‘joy’ of dealing with the insurance after the accident, the taxman after I decided to register, not having that satisfied feeling of doing anything properly and at least 2 hours a day on the road. Starting to feel like not such a happy camper.

I cannot see any point in obtaining my masters in South Africa, it really does not seem to matter if you work hard or not. Loads of clowns in our country that has no education to mention and a criminal record. Yet they obtain cushy government jobs and high profile CEO positions. How is this justified?

I know I will finish, will not quit. I really enjoy my topic and I am learning a lot. The sad part is just that research should not be rushed since that is when errors occur and great oversights are made. How many brilliant discoveries out there will never be found since we are all in such mad dash for completion?

Passed my last exam for this semester. Just one more subject, my dissertation and Ill be done!!! Good luck to the rest of ya all :)

Handed in my last assignment, written the final exam and now I have to wait…. Which is worse than preparation for me. Kinda sucks that there is no instant way of knowing how everything went and what the final marks are.

Whooohooo 74% for the first test and 76% for the submitted article!!! Thank you lady luck. Finals are now only two weeks away so it seems the time to study is now. Damn law makers for all the latin and extended sentences.

It was pretty cool knowing that I passed the 50% mark in yesterdays test. Now to wait for the results.
