We go at least 4-5 weekends a year, but we want to do more. So when we had an invitation to jam with some friends in the desert about 65 miles from us, I went online and found a campground near by.
Just got back and it went very well, in spite of midday temps around 105. Thank goodness for full hookups and air conditioning!

Seven times this year. Only maybe twice last year. Had a good time in our new trailer.

Went camping, as planned. It was a lovely weekend. We spent a lot of time around campfires, singing. This photo is from the grounds. Can you see the lizard??
We were going to go to Bishop, CA the 21st-23rd, but I had a nasty cold, so we stuck around home.
Our next planned trip is in December, between Christmas and New Year. We have reservations at a campground at the beach near Santa Barbara. The average high is about 65 and low is about 45 in December/January. We’ll have full hook-ups, heat, etc., so it should be a neat little adventure. Hope the weather isn’t stormy and we don’t chicken out!

We’re going camping with our acoustic music club at a campground amongst Valencia orange groves. We’ve been there 2-3 times a year for several years, so it’s comfortable and fun. We just recently discover the coastal town of Ventura is very cool and only about 25 minutes from the campground, so we’re planning a foray or two over there during the 3-day weekend.
We’ll probably arrive near dark, so setting up our trailer in these conditions will be a new experience. Also, my mother’s arriving in California tomorrow and will be joining us. Our first time sharing the trailer. She’s very easy to get along with, so it should be fun.

My husband and I bought a used trailer this spring and are determined to use it a lot. It’s getting easier to drive and set up. It’s so wonderful to have a comfortable bed and to be able to take our pets with us. No more aching and tiredness after what was supposed to be a restful weekend of camping. I used to think these things weren’t even camping… Well, so, if it’s more like taking your own customized hotel with you wherever you go, so be it. We’re thrilled.
Here’s a photo of it at Red Rock Canyon, where we made a pit stop on the way back from the Owens Valley.
