It’s hard to judge where I am on this. I’ve met a lot of people since moving, most of them very engaging and full of ideas. Salt Lake is a really interesting, eclectic city!
I’m an engineering student, so I’ve had to get to know people pretty well in order to work with them on team projects. Hard to call those lasting friendships, though.
This summer, I studied abroad in Japan in a shared dorm and got all にぎやか with a bunch of people my age. It was honestly an eye-opener, since I kinda skipped out on the high school experience. Most of them I still try to keep in touch with, but they all have their own spheres to live in, too. (Tin, I hope you’re doing well in LA…)
Still, the quest goes on. If anything, I’ve managed to break out a few layers of my shell.
