Every car I’ve ever had has been given to me or bought for me by someone else. Well, now I don’t have someone to do all that stuff for me and the prospect of doing it on my own is both terrifying and exhilarating.
First I’m scared I’ll get bamboozled (I love that word…) and buy a lemon… then the payments will be too much for me, it will get repo’d, or I’ll forget to pay my insurance, or it will break down and be giving me HUGE SIGNS for weeks ahead of time, but since I know relatively nothing about cars (they key goes here, the foot goes there…) I won’t pay attention and I’ll do something silly, like let it run out of oil and ruin the engine. Gas prices will soar and I’ll have a beautiful car sitting there that I can’t drive. I’ll get fired from my job, or have a month of low sales and not make my payments. Or… I’ll make my payments each month but won’t be able to afford clothing or haircuts or TOILET PAPER even because I’ve gotten in over my head…
I think in worst-case scenarios if you can’t tell.
Really though I’m going to do it… hopefully this month, and hopefully none of this horrible stuff will happen (especially not the toilet paper part…)
