inbox zero

Not that much progress in the Unread stakes, but holding fairly steady at 4523.

I’m making sure to process all the new mail as it comes in, and chipping away little by little at the existing stuff. Not sure how long it will take for me to just give in and archive it all out of sight, out of mind ;-)

Inbox Total – 9438 (-1497)
Unread Total – 4549 (-1359)

I was tempted to just delete them all, or just archive them all so that they’re out of the inbox but I think that would just move the problem out of sight for a while.

Instead I’ve set up a few filters to get some of the lower priority stuff out of the way, unsubscribed from a few more newsletters and deleted lots of jokes.

It’s gotten a little worse, 10,935 total messages – 5908 Unread.

Going through now and deleting a heap. Also unsubscribing from the newsletters I no longer read … this could take a while!

Haven’t been spending as much time online recently, and lots of things have been neglected – especially my email inbox.

Today when I opened Gmail there were 8592 messages total, 4634 of them were unread.

Most of them are just advertising or newsletters I no longer have the time to read. Some are probably borderline spam. It’s time to have a spring clean though and get it back to zero.
