complete NaNoWriMo this year

I was thinking about skipping NaNo this year, especially with a baby to take care of as well. But then this plot idea popped into my head and I told Tez about it and it grew a little … and then he suggested something … and it grew a bit more … and then I though maybe I should do NaNo anyway … and Tez said “You should do it, you really enjoy it” ... and so I updated my profile on the site the other night and am prepping to get started on November 1. Whew!

It’s 8 o’clock on the last night of NaNoWriMo 2008 and I’m sad to admit that I didn’t get much past the 10,000 word mark. I’m disappointed in myself that I didn’t push myself harder, but glad that I at least cracked the first 10k mark.

Leaving this goal in my list for a repeat effort in 2009.

Reached my mini goal for yesterday, added another 2,668 words to my total for a final word count of 10,023.

Goal for today is a repeat performance – 2,500 more words before bedtime!

I’m 16,643 words behind where I’m supposed to be at, but I guess it could be worse. If I continue writing 2,500 words a day I’ll still make the 50,000 by the 30th.

I did it last year, I’m sure I can do it again :)

Morale is low. Word count is lower still. Need to get a move on with this!

At least I have my story outline to follow, and I am finding the story motivating – it’s just finding the time to write.

My goal is to boost my word count by at least 2500 today.

Starting my prep for this year’s Nano. Looking at how I’m going to do my plot outline and a better way of keeping track of my characters (last year they got a little confused!)

Planning on being ready to go as of November 1 with an outline of the major story scenes and my character charts.

I’ve done NaNoWriMo four times previously, 2007 is the first year that I’ve “won” though. I love the experience and have met some fun and interesting people through the NaNo meetups.

I’m setting this goal for the 2008 NaNoWriMo. Bring on October!
