I missed January 3rd and 4th, so today I am grateful for 15 things:
1. For waking up every morning with a new chance to work towards making my dreams a reality.
2. For no longer feeling like I need alcohol in order to have a good time.
3. For feeling like I am becoming more comfortable in my own skin every day.
4. For my puppy!
5. For my health.
6. For the health of my family and loved ones.
7. For my very comfortable bed.
8. For feeling like I’m getting a handle on my finances.
9. For my faith in God.
10. For knowing that even though I may be having a bad day, I have the power to change my attitude.
11. For learning to appreciate all I have been blessed with.
12. For gaining more confidence in myself.
13. For the unconditional love and support of my parents.
14. For the respect and companionship of my good friends.
15. For being able to share my thoughts, feelings, and hopes with others. Thanks guys!!!

1. For being healthy enough to walk down the street to the mailbox. I know some people are envious of that ability, when normally I take it for granted.
2. For my DVR, so I can watch all The Twilight Zone episodes I saved the other day.

4. For knowing myself a little bit better today than yesterday.

I Am Grateful:

1. For my mother’s helping me with a situation causing me stress.
2. For the time spent with my family today.
3. For the friendship of goodhearted, loyal people.
4. For my optimistic attitude lately.
5. For the free time I have on vacation, because I know so many people who have very few days off.

... and sometimes I take everything I have for granted, because I am too busy thinking about what I don’t have. So, as one of my many New Year’s Resolutions, I have decided to take time out every day (or try) to list some things I am grateful for.
So here goes:
Today, I am grateful:
1. That people miss me when I am not around.
2. That my family always expresses their love and concern for me.
3. That I have food and fresh water in my apartment.
4. That I have a roof over my head and am in my warm apartment.
5. That I am in a much better place, emotionally, than I was a year ago.
I could go on, but I think 5 items per day is enough.
