build a treehouse

We are finally working on this in earnest when the budget spreadsheets say definitively: NO CAN DO! But I guess we’re doing it anyway… We have two platforms, some ideas for how to work the tree into it, and plans for a rope-bridge… (and of course a trap-door)

so now that we have a little boy – trying to run around, this goal has become all about him. He got a chance yesterday to try out some one else’s tree house. He LOVED it! It had a port hole window, a dumb-waiter type of window and a skylight! Well, it had two slightly old boys playing in it too which made it oh so much more intriguing… This should be fun and this better be the year too. Plus I’m tired of looking at that freaking lumber under all that blue plastic. ugh!

I guess JW is thinking we’re going to have the two platforms and build a bridge between the two. That sounds like a good plan. I am of course concerned with making it muy charmant. Also I don’t want it totally enclosed as I don’t trust kids all that much. Esp. a few years from now. A roof but maybe not walls everywhere…

So, Jeg’s ramp was disembowelled the other weekend and now we have two ginormous constructed platforms standing awaiting embellishment in our back 40. Also waiting is a big ass pile o lumber. Sounds like JW and friends are taking it on so I will sit back (what are the odds of that actually happening) and await completion whereupon I will affect the outside so it is aesthetically pleasing. god, didn’t mean to be so florally-verbose. But I am tired, aren’t I.
