I have actually been at site for an entire month. This has been one of the most difficult and rewarding months of my life thus far. I live in a small house on the campus of one of my schools, I am slowly learning how to cook, and I am working on integrating into my community.
Send a letter if you have a chance…

I have about two and a half more weeks of training to go. We leave for Bangkok in about ten days, we then have our final week of training there. Then we are all sworn in and then go off to our sites! I am excited and scared and a million other emotions all in one. Wish me luck!

Stupid! Stupid! paperwork!
I leave in three days and….I just got a bill for student loans that were supposed to be defered…I have paperwork that I am supposed to fill out and none of my pens are going through all of the carbon copy layers….I hate paperwork! I hate stupid governmental agencies that have their heads lodged so far up their ass that they couldn’ see straight to save themselves.
I hate paperwork!

I leave in 12 days. It is hard to believe the day is almost here. It is something I have thought about, dreamed about, been terrified of….and now…now is it almost here.
Keep your fingers crossed for me as I get ready to leave. Packing and whatnot are not fun. And of course there is the paperwork. What would the peace corps be without all those dead trees.
Write me kids! and I will send you a prezzie!

I found my address for when I will be in training. It says it will take about a week for letters from the states. So if anyone wants to send me a birthday card – Feb 1 – that would be great.

I am not feeling the aspiration statement thing. I keep sounding either crack-head, delusional, optomistic or just insane. I don’t know what they want me to write. And the format for the resume really isn’t that helpful either. I have been staring at the computer for so long, my eyes are about to revolt.
And then there is the other ton of paperwork.
And the packing list is a joke. They have that I can bring 80 lbs of stuff, then give me a list that would weigh twice as much.
Working at Ross for the rest of my life is looking tolerable at this point…. but then I remember…THAILAND!!!!! I really really want to go now.
Funny, how much trouble I am going through to get to a country so many people are trying to leave.

I just got another round of medical paperwork to be filled out, so I guess I’m still not done. At least this stack wasn’t so deep…I only need to go back to my dentist. I still hate paperwork.
