Bath time and getting hair washed

You enjoy getting your hair washed, and don’t cry when I pour the water over your hair. After your hair is washed, and dried your hair gets really fluffy, and soft. Your hair is almost long enough to put in a tiny pony tail.

First walk outside (in the stroller)

Today you went for your first ride in the stroller outside. The weather was finally nice enough for you to be outside, and it was also the first time trying out the new double stroller. You really enjoyed the ride so much that you slept the whole time. Towards the end of the walk your big sister also fell asleep.

You are trying to talk and like to laugh

Tonight you were trying to talk to me. The other day, you were “talking” and when I called Grandma you managed to say a few words that we recorded on her answering machine. It’s really difficult to get this recorded on video, but at least it’s on the answering machine.

Tonight, I made some funny crow sounds, and you thought that it was hilarious. You started to laugh, and smile, and it made me laugh too. I haven’t laughed so hard in a long time, and once I started laughing, I couldn’t stop. I didn’t even know that I could make such a sound. I’ll have to remember to make those sounds the next time you are crying.

Baby is now here

You were born at 40 w, 4 days.. so much for thinking that you would come before then. I thought that I was going to have to get induced, and I was really worried about it.

The night before you were born, I was so uncomfortable (my stomach was feeling so big), I thought that for sure the labour was going to start any minute, but it didn’t… until the next day. I woke up, and thought that I might be in labour, but wasn’t sure. From the time that I woke up to the time that you were born, was less than 2 hours.

On the ride to the hospital, I thought that I might give birth in car! When we got to the hospital, I went to the labour assessment room and then Daddy had to go to park the car. By the time he came back you were almost born! It was a very fast labour, only a few minutes of pushing (about 3 or 4 pushes).

You are a girl… just like I predicted!

Getting ready for baby

We had an ultrasound done, but the ultrasound technician couldn’t determine the gender. Before I went to have the ultrasound done, I guessed that you would be a girl. The tech had to guess that you were going to be girl. Daddy thinks that you are a boy, and almost everyone else who sees my tummy thinks that you will be a boy. It looks like I’m the only one who thinks that you might be a girl. I guess that we’ll have to wait to find out.

We have names picked out for both gender just to be safe. Daddy had a list of names to pick.

My tummy is round like a basketball, and the old wives tale is that is a predictor of a boy. I didn’t get much morning sickness this time.

In the beginning, I craved pineapple, and mango. I really like adding ice to my drinks too.

We really enjoyed going to buffets at the beginning too, and were trying new ones almost every Sunday. Luckily, I didn’t gain too much weight!

I worked out regularly. I was able to run for the first few weeks, but then it got too hot to continue running. Then I started working out in an air conditioned gym, and with a trainer to stay in shape.

I think that you liked the exercise, because after a workout you would give me sharp little kicks. Maybe you will like to lift weights when you are older.

A couple of weeks ago, Daddy, and I went to pick out some new clothes for you. Since we don’t know if you are going to be a boy or a girl we decided to buy an outfit for each gender. It’s going to be your first special outfit for coming home from the hospital.

39 weeks and counting...

Getting closer to the end of the pregnancy. Looks like the full moon old wives tale didn’t work.

I can’t believe that I’ve had the hospital bag packed for a couple of weeks now!!!!! I don’t think that I’ve ever been this organized well in advance of doing something!!! I guess that there is a first time for everything.

I’m getting a lot of things done around the house which is good. I started with a list of about 65 things that I wanted to complete (more or less something to keep myself busy while I wait), and I’m nearly half way complete. I’ll laugh if I actually finish this list before the baby is born.

The waiting game--A full moon tonight

Still waiting for baby to be born. I thought that baby would be born by now, and actually be a couple of weeks early. There are still 2 weeks to go until the official due date.

Tonight is a full moon, and the old wives tale is that babies are usually born under a full moon. It will be interesting to see if this prediction is true or not.
