I had to move so during the process of moving I was forced to make some decisions on what I was going to keep, and what was going away.
I got rid of the ‘easy’ things first, and then worked my way through the ‘harder’ stuff. Towards the end it was really difficult, because I was getting tired of making the decision, but after the process of going through my belongings I felt so liberated. For example, I had a box of papers that I knew I didn’t need, but just couldn’t get rid of them. Once I started to shred a few papers it really got the ball rolling to get rid of more stuff.
One thing that I learned was that the clutter really did take up precious time, space, and resources. I hope that I can maintain a clutter-free space! :-)
