I may be marking this one off soon. My biggest problem with that? When do you mark this type of item off your list? How much do you have to know of a language to legitimately be able to say “I can speak __”? I’ve decided that being able to get by in another country is where I will draw my line. Granted, the best way to test this would be to study abroad for a period of time but I don’t have the resources for that. Anyways, I’m not fluent in Spanish currently but I’ll have completed the intermediate level classes at my college in another three weeks. My friends and I can speak in the past, present, future, conditional, subjunctive, etc. We can hold conversations in Spanish. I think I’ll count this as “done” when I finish this course because I’ll actually be able to handle some conversations ‘en Español”. Looking forward to it!

I took three and a half years of Spanish before taking 231 but I had a brilliant professor who really cared and wanted us to learn. I have learned more in his class this past semester than all my other years combined. I am taking 232 next semester with two of my friends (although my professor is leaving for research so I won’t have him). I hope to retain the Spanish I learned throughout the summer so that next year I can build upon what my professor taught me. :D
I want to be in Spanish 109 to start my way from the bottom up but when I took the placement test I was placed in 231. I’ll probably be asking my friend for a lot of help, but I will be taking Spanish next semester.
Next semester I should be in an accelerated review class for spanish. I made it in to 231 but it was all lucky guessing. Still, hopefully the program here is better and I’ll actually take something from it.
