Staring at the ceiling, the dark shadows, the little curves and the strange shapes they seem to make, watching as outside light moves across a wall, tossing and turning, sighing with discontentment… Insomnia has hit again.
It seems no matter what this terrible inability to sleep sucks away my precious hours of sleep and leaves me, almost in a state of delusion, like a zombie wandering throughout the daylight hours.
Do you suppose that if humans were nocturnal instead of diurnal, this problem would be solved? Or is it, rather, a creeping malfunction of the brain induced by stress or other such life-giving worries?
