I threw out my back, and my family hid my materials until they think I’m safe to go up a ladder. Who knew they were looking out for me…? Huh?

For my house, I do not demand perfection. I paint walls and figure that paint is easily changed. I did not grow up with any wallpaper (my childhood house was a hardwood beadboard or something similar). In fact, I would say that drywall is something my family tends to shun. But here I live, so here I feel free to experiment. I know I’m not doing it right, but I did both kids’ rooms and now the bathroom has to be finished by Thursday. I’m learning. More paste seems to be better. I’m having a wonderful time. I’m smearing paste all over the wall where the border goes first, paying attention to the top. Then I am thoroughly pasting the border in a managable size, cut in a place easy to match. Then I match and smoothe down. The bottom sometimes curls up despite this, but I can fix that. Whatever. It’s not like it’s permanent or even serious. But I have cool east indian elephants now in a burgundy border on my bathroom wall, which matches the east indian elephant themed bathroom I’m building. We like elephants here! But I digress – and I’m delightfully covered in paste up to the wrists! Boy it’s fun to get messy. If I can’t be covered in clay, this is something at least.
My wallpaper border for the kids’ bathroom has been sitting partially done for months, and that’s embarrassing. It won’t take but … oh, less than an hour I’m sure. I did their bedrooms by myself in no time flat. Procrastination strikes again.
